Connections with Buddhist Youth in Sydney

Nsw Immodest to post praises, I know, but I wanted to share some of the heart-felt comments and responses from my talk and songs in Sydney at the Mitra Conference:

"...I just wanted to express my sincere thanks for the dhamma and wisdom that you shared at the council and the conference.  I was moved to tears more than once, and it feels like my faith in the three jewels has grown, which has given me a lot of energy to make a greater effort with my practice and work for the dhamma." KW - Sydney

Mitrahall "I wanted to thank you once again personally for the terrific inspiration you have provided to the whole Sydney community and to me, in particular....
I am deeply impressed by your life story, and my meeting with you comes at a time of my life where I am continuosuly asking myself the purpose of life..." CG - Italy

"... Not only was it informative and inspiring, but also, many people agreed with me that it was very moving when you sang.  It was a wonderful prelude to the Mitra conference.  We all look forward to your next visit...." BW - NSW

"Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed and learned from your multimedia presentations at last weekend's conference....It was the first time I had attended a Buddhist workshop and I got a lot out of it. Your commitment to and knowledge of the Buddha's teachings was inspirational.
It was a pleasure to hear your fascinating life stories." MW - Newcastle

Dear divine souls,

I am recently working in a project with Affinity Intercultural Foundation and Y-net and we would love your presence and your friends to come join us in this project called "The Spirit of Service." It is a night of enjoying dialogues from different faiths such as Aboriginal Spirituality, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam and also traditional dances and music from the Eastern faiths and cultures. (attached is the flyer)

DATE: Saturday 14th June 2008.
TIME: 6 p.m.
COST: $10

The purpose of this dialogue is to harness the collective energy of young people from various Eastern faith/cultures and traditions. This is solely for the purpose of understanding each others' faiths and for youth involved to have further opportunities for dialogue and action, building lifelong friendships which shall facilitate a culture of peace. For this dialogue, rather then relying on a few high-profile interfaith speakers as we always do, our aim is to cultivate the next generation.

Affinity Intercultural Foundation was established by a group of young Australian Muslims in early 2001 in order to meet the needs of the Muslim community to interact with the greater society and the needs of the general public to increase its awareness of the Muslim community, its religion and culture.

YNet is an initiative of the Youth wing of the Sathya Sai Organisation of Australia & Papua New Guinea. The Sathya Sai Organisation aims to promote harmony and understanding of all the world faiths. This is achieved by the practice of the five universal human values of love, peace, truth, right-conduct and non-violence.

Together, Affinity and YNet are aiming for a fruitful discussion between the youth from different Eastern Faith traditions including Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist and Aborigines.
